I am on vacation and really concentrating on spending as much time with my hubby, parents, and dogs as possible, but I wanted to share this one spot of happiness with you all. First though - I had an amazing Christmas which I will write about another time. I loved every minute of it and took lots of photos (with my NEW CAMERA!) that I can't wait to put up. It was truly magical spending the day with my family and new husband. I hope everyone's holiday was a perfect as mine.
And now for a spot of happiness that truly warmed my heart:
I participated in a few Christmas swaps because I love exchanging gifts with other bloggers. For some reason it's really fun finding out information about someone through their blog and then buying them the perfect gift. Some gifts turn out better than others - I find something perfect and am really excited about it and can't wait for them to get it. That was the case with my last two gift exchanges - but the one I'm going to focus on is the most recent, with Elizabeth at The Young Retiree.
I read her blog and did some research and found out that her husband was going to be deployed and she was going to be all alone, far from home, for Christmas. What do you get someone who has no one to celebrate the holidays with? So I searched and searched and found the perfect gift: a deployment necklace by Handmade Jewelry by Jessica Howard. Well, today I randomly logged on to check my email and had the loveliest thank you from Elizabeth. It truly touched my heart how much she liked the gift. She wrote the sweetest note and it almost made me cry. Here is the post if you want to see it - it has a picture of the gift and a section of the thank you note she sent me.
Getting such a beautiful thank you and knowing that the gift I chose made someone so happy really made my Christmas.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas filled with spots of happiness. I know I did and as I sit here it's snowing a white cloud outside and I can't wait to go a-snowshoe-ing and then warm up in the hot tub. Ahh, the vacation life at my parents!!

It sounds like such a perfect gift! So incredibly thoughtful!!!
